Trails & Rides

Vermont is full of places to ride in the woods and most of them are not on any map. Every mountain biker that has been exploring the woods for more than a couple of years has experienced the disappointment of a new house being built RIGHT IN OUR TRAIL or a new sign saying NO! Thankfully, little-by-little bikers have organized and worked towards establishing, legally recognized, trails which can be built to last under the traffic created by inviting the world to come and ride.

Give it up for the following groups that are doing their best at keeping our mountains free and bicyclable:
VERMONT MOUNTAIN BIKERS ASSOCIATION (VMBA)
ROCHESTER/RANDOLPH AREA SPORTS TRAIL ALLIANCE (R.A.S.T.A.)
KILLINGTON MOUNTAIN BIKE CLUB
FELLOWSHIP OF THE WHEEL (FotW)

And here are some good places to get you started…
ROCHESTER VALLEY TRAILS
GREEN MOUNTAIN TRAILS
SHERBURNE TRAILS
PINE HILL PARK TRAILS
MILLSTONE TRAILS
FELLOWSHIP OF THE WHEEL TRAILS
MOOSALAMOO NATIONAL RECREATION AREA

…but if you’re partial to the old-school edginess of trespass tours, then step away from your computer and go find a local with a dirty bike.
